Hello and welcome to the Listening Room! My name is Emily, and today, we are going to talk about shopping for groceries. Do you go to the supermarket? Let’s learn how to talk about it in English!

Before going to the supermarket, I make a shopping list. I write down what I need. For example, I need milk, bread, eggs, and fruit.

At the supermarket, I take a shopping cart or a basket. Then, I go to different sections. In the fruit and vegetable section, I buy apples, bananas, and carrots.

In the dairy section, I get milk, cheese, and yogurt.
In the bakery section, I buy bread and cookies.
In the meat section, I get chicken and fish.

At the checkout, I pay for my groceries. I can pay with cash or a credit card. The cashier gives me a receipt. Then, I go home and put the food in the fridge.

Now, let’s practice! What do you buy at the supermarket? Do you make a shopping list?
